Yankees stay in
Listening to a comment from George Steinbrenner yesterday annoyed me. It brought to mind something that happens most years in any major sport: losing teams tend to lose their coaches and try new ones for the start of next year. It's a foolish idea that somehow the success of the whole is defined by a single person. You don't see the Army firing Gen. Petraeus worrying about his job because the Iraq war isn't over yet, so why are the Yankees and other sport teams under more pressure? Worse yet, it keeps the idea that if a plan does not seem to be working right away, it needs to be changed. Sometimes plans need to be analyzed to see how well they have fared before you change them. We'll see how the Yankees fare later on tonight.
